Everyone is different in terms of how much time they will need to be ready for the ICBC road test.
One of the purposes of getting some of your restrictions lifted after your MSA/MST is so you can start practicing independently.
Be sure to re-read the ICBC “Learn to Ride Smart” as well as the "Tuning Up for Riders" and refamiliarize yourself with the rules of the road, road lines and road signs.
Get out on the streets and ride as much as you can. Road test applicants with significant street time are more likely to pass the road test on the first attempt. Keep in mind: While riding, make sure to follow every rule, every time! You are being tested on your knowledge and adherence to the rules of the road! Riding a bike 1000km in the dirt, on the racetrack or primarily on highways is not adequate preparation for this test!
Your 1000km should ideally include a balanced mix of city streets and highway time. Road tests are conducted “rain-or-shine”. Make sure to practice your rain-riding so that you are confident on test-day no matter what Mother Nature brings on that day.
Additionally, you can sign up for extra traffic classes and Mock Road Tests outside of your course package (fee involved).
